Engineering Lesson
90 minutes (2 45-minute classes)
Lesson Time:
The purpose of Lesson 7 is to update their initial designs from Lesson 3 to add ideas about energy demands and energy generation. Their new designs include components that account for the energy needs and how students might generate energy, using renewable sources, to cover those needs.
What will we do?
Problematize electrical systems using different energy inputs, components, and review energy outputs through simulation.
Practice design thinking by evaluating and revising goals, criteria, and constraints.
Revise our designs.
Consider what else requires energy in our classroom that we have not yet investigated.
