A message for students
The Build It Green! project provides an opportunity for students, like yourself, to learn about how buildings can be designed to lower energy use, reduce energy cost, and have less impact on the environment. The unit focuses on developing important ideas about energy and its use in our buildings and schools. You will use digital tools to design, test, and optimize your own building design as part of the unit.
The materials in this unit were developed by educators and tested by middle school students during 2024-2026. The team then revised them to make them even better!
